Puma x Black Sherif - World Cup Kit Reveal

This past spring, Puma took over Domino Square in New York City for the Eleven Nations Kit Reveal, a street-level unveiling of their new national team kits ahead of the World Cup. Rather than a stadium reveal or a brand film, Puma chose to debut the kits in play, on the streets, surrounded by community, music, food trucks, and live 4v4 tournaments. Eleven nations across four continents were represented, with Puma dressing more African national teams than any other kit brand in the tournament, including Ghana, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Morocco, and Egypt.

Esi was selected to represent Ghana during the live performance by Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif, choreographed by Samuel "Hooliboy" Kyei. Black Sherif debuted his new single "Popstar" at the event, hosted by artist and streamer BenDaDonn. Football legends Asamoah Gyan (Ghana), Ricardo Quaresma (Portugal), and El Hadji Diouf (Senegal) were present as representatives of their nations. The Daily Paper collective and social media personality Fanum rounded out the guest list.

To be selected as one of the dancers representing Ghana at an event of this scale, built around cultural identity and the spirit of African football on the world stage, was a meaningful convergence of Esi's heritage and her craft.
